The incident happened more then 20 fucking years ago at a time when she was NOT working for the USDA or the FED gov’t.
She related in a speech at an NAACP dinner how she changed her views and ultimately helped this farmer (who she ended up being friends with) keep his farm even after he was a bit of a jerk.
She used it to show how ALL OF USE need to get past seeing race and see only that you have a person in need in front of you.
