That sounds a lot healthier to me than the way the Vatican insists it has to be done.

One of my cousins has gone from Catholic to Episcopalian, not out of any theological conviction, but because as an Episcopalian, he can be out more easily, and he and his husband could have a nice church wedding.

The Catholics in the family regard this as a hopefully temporary situation—the Church will get its act together, and he’ll come home.
