If you’ve got 20 minutes, this is an excellent criticism video about the bad base assumptions inherent in GamerGate. It’s a somewhat different take than other, also valid criticisms, and I find it particularly valuable since it points out the continuity between the “extreme” behavior and the larger movement: specifically, that GG’s idea of “normal” versus “interloper.”

It starts slow and explains some ideas beforehand with a film example, but the meat—the last two-thirds—is very well executed.

I have noticed, though, that any discussion soon leads to the fact that Zoe Quinn is a slut and Anita Sarkeesian isn’t a real gamer. :-(
