Though I suppose it all depends on just how bad the crimes end up being. If he’s impeached and removed or resigns, Pence is going to make a political calculation on what’s best for his re-election campaign.

If it comes to that Pence will almost certainly pardon Trump. There’s probably no viable path to victory for him in 2020 under any scenario but the one where Trump’s base perceives him as a backstabber has to be the most brutal.
