For a second let’s pretend that Mitt Romney had won the election and inherited the targeted killing program with its upgraded ability to strike citizens without one iota of Judicial Branch involvement.

How comfortable are you with that scenario? Well, there’s no guarantee that the next President is going to responsibly administrate that policy, but since there’s no oversight built in to it they’re going to be able to take the precedent and run with it.
