plus i wonder how many companies right now are paying their work at home employees for the dedicated floor / desk space, heat, a/c, internet, phone usage and other intangible or tangible infrastructure they just assume is there.

this is not a zero sum offset by reduced commuting expenses.
how many businesses were paying for that before?

Why should they pay you for those things. You can deduct them from your taxes, plebe!
