I was listening to a Sam Harris podcast with Douglas Murray. Murray said something like, “People do not change due to reason. They only change due to acts.” Murray made the statement a few days after the Paris attacks and in the context of the rate of change in the West regarding the threat of Islamism and Jihadism.

This idea that acts can cause people to change their standing on issues when reason never could is making me hopeful in the light of the GOP, the violence, and their civil war. Could some people wake up the the threats posed by their brand of extremism?
