Let us not forget that Bernie was an Independent until he tried to hitch his wagon to the Democratic Party to campaign for President. That nuance often gets lost in the shouting.

It’s a two party system. Where else could he run and get any traction? And he’s caucused with the Democrats and been a progressive voice in Washington for decades. It’s only when he closed the gap with Hillary his pedigree was called into question.
