From one of my heroes, Jonathan Kozol (who I was rooting for to be named Sec. of Education at one time), a wonderful explanation of why people should be opposed to the charter school expansion on the ballot in Massachusetts (and really, anywhere)

He’s an almost forgotten hero of mine, too. I saw him speak at the University of Redlands (CA) in 1979 or so. A bunch of fellow students read The Night is Dark and I am Far From Home and it caused two to drop out and one to join the Peace Corp and then turn into a Republican. O:
