Close to the end of development of a weapon designed primarily to take on the top armor of heavy mid-century battleships.

I remember a comment from a long time ago when the US Navy’s New Jersey was hurtling 16” shells into Beirut after the bombing. They said it was like VW Bugs coming through the building faster than the speed of sound.
