Indeed. But as a kidney stone sufferer*, I can testify that ‘benign’ does NOT mean ‘painless’.

*Turns out I got more from Dad than just my light blue/green irises and my advancing forehead.

Also a week in the hospital indicates that it’s probably a tumor that they want to shrink while monitoring how the rest of her kidney responds to the reduced blood flow.
