Oh for fuck’s sake.

Musicians make music. Where they play is their business. I don’t WANT to know about the political leanings of my favorite artists. I just want to enjoy music I enjoy.

I’m sort of at a loss to respond, because I don’t really disagree with you, but I also think that music isn’t just about making a pleasant noise. It’s emotion, it’s meaning, it inspires, but also, it’s representative of what happens when one is free to express themselves in a free society. Remember that one of things that Achmedineajad got rid of is “western” music.

I don’t think it’s wrong to take a stand against such a thing or to support (or not to support) musicians who pick which side they’ll play for. Music really is more than “just” music for me in that way.
