I am beginning to wonder if the best thing would be for the Tea Partiers to all win, show the populace what kind of serious damage they can do when they have power and then have them become an object lesson in what extremism does to a country. However, if people haven’t already figured that out, I don’t think putting the Teatards in charge is worth the risk that they might actually do some damage, which is too high as it is.

If that were to happen, they’d become the new norm in American politics. People would adjust to having crazy people in government, and the policies they’d push through would hurt small groups of people around the country in big ways, but not enough to bring national outrage and get them unseated by saner candidates. In short, the country would get battered-wives syndrome…and keep re-electing these idiots because they wouldn’t dare hit us again.

No, let’s not let them get their foot in the door.
