We’re heard this bit time and again, the “vote for the sane candidates” idea of how to reform the GOP. And almost every time this is attempted, the “sane” candidate turns out to either be a closet loony or afraid to stand up to the loonies for fear that they’ll be primaried for not being sufficiently pure in the eyes of their increasingly loony base.
