Yesterday, the United States recorded 2049 deaths from Covid, per Worldometer. This was the higher number of deaths for any country in the world. Number 2 was Mexico with 879 deaths or well under HALF of the U.S. figure.

As a point of comparison, the ENTIRE NATION OF CANADA recorded only 28 deaths.

28.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. “Canada is much smaller than us so of course the numbers will be lower.”

Here’s the problem. Canadas population is roughly 10 percent that of the U.S. Since both nations are quite similar on many levels, it’s fair to assume that if both countries were doing a good job dealing with the pandemic that we would see deaths about ten times the amount of Canadas.

That would be 280. But no. Instead, we had over 2000. TWO THOUSAND.

Tomorrow is the 20th Anniversary of 9/11. At this rate, we’ll be back to losing the same number of people we lost on 9/11 PER DAY to this virus.

Fucking. Maddening.
