IIRC, back in 66, she and Cloward wrote a paper proposing that everyone get on welfare and overwhelm the system to bring about a collapse of the corrupt U.S. economy and government.

This did not happen, and the paper was promptly relegated to a great mass of similar ideas percolating around in the 60s and 70s. It was never going to happen, and I doubt the authors ever thought it was going to happen.

Like Alinsky, this crap was dug out of storage by various wingnuts, Beck among them, and is now being waved around as proof of malign intent by the left wing. This is pretty much as though I were dusting off hysterical papers about the communist threat from the same era, and using it as proof that modern conservatives want to bomb Moscow and get us all nuked.
