Nowadays, they just argue about it. “I’m not denying, I’m just not sold on it!” And then, when pressed further, go “Well, I’m not sold on it because the science isn’t settled!” Finally, when given a stern look, will whine “And I don’t like how the pro-AGW crowd are all so ‘alarmist’ over something that might not even be happening!”

We run into alarmism almost everywhere. I’ve been on both ends of the spectrum in either being alarmist or being turned off by alarmism. Sure, people will say that AGW lobbyists are alarmist, but look at what’s been done about AGW thus far? Not much from the looks of things. Most everything still has an on and off switch. Not everyone talking about AGW is an alarmist. At the same time many AGW opponents are alarmists themselves. It’s a complicated feature of human behavior. Perhaps it is a survival instinct.
