Yeah.. I thought that particular part of the rule system was probably it’s strongest point. I flirted with it as my main system for a while, but decided I didn’t mind the abstractions of D&D given that I was more interested in telling interesting and funny stories than really simulating anything.
I liked it because it got the players away from “Let the fighter take the lead to soak up damage” approach.
