Music contracts are notorious regarding what is asked of artists and how they get screwed. I’m sure Charles can speak to that, but that sounds like an epic bad deal.

I’m still sort of amazed that the big record companies still exist in the ways that they do. Given the technology available and that music has (mostly) gone digital, it’s fairly easy to self produce. The only thing that labels seem to have going for them at this point is that they still seem to control access to radio play lists.
