I like the endearing explanation of how black people being charged more than white people doesn’t matter, because they didn’t have to shop there, and could just open a different store.
And if the wholesalers refused to sell to them, why, that wouldn’t matter, black people could found their own wholesalers. And if the factories wouldn’t sell fairly to them, why, that wouldn’t matter, because black people could just start their own factories!
It’s all so simple.
