He never recanted, but I don’t post on Fark anymore. He was down to threadshitting when I left, rather than actually engaging with people and making more lies. What a joke that dude was.

The internet has actually made it kind of harder to catch fake vets out; it’s a lot easier for them to do the research and make up a good story.
