I wish there were something more than a restraining order that could be done, because a restraining order is really just a piece of paper if someone isn’t willing to abide by it. :/

And for some of the others I know of who are known victims of domestic violence, this is part of the problem. They want to leave, but they have nowhere to go; and a restraining order isn’t going to stop an angry drunk husband who wants revenge and is familiar enough with courts and prisons not to care.
