Mrs. Fish turns on perfectionist mode because my mom happens to be a domestic goddess and she tries to measure up. I keep telling her it’s not like that, but nobody ever listens to little ol’ me.

I have a lot of practice with not caring too much on that, although I won’t lie and say that it’s not a little nicer around the house when they show up.

No, where I run into trouble is my MiL is an extrovert. Hardcore. Cannot stop talking.

I’m fairly certain my FiL has the patience of a saint.

And if I withdraw for time to myself/not feeling well/whatever, that gets interpreted as “we don’t want them there.” (That was a particularly bad visit.)

Seven days is about my limit.
