It is scary to see them literally come apart at the seams. We’ve seen that visibly happen with Trump’s disastrous ABC interview last week. Bannon’s very obvious substance abuse issues don’t help.

But I also find it hard to believe that they expected this to unfold directly the way it has. The deliberate lying that “the EO is the bee’s knees!” and screening of Finding Dory at the White House at the same time thousands and thousands gathered in front in a quickly-arranged protest… that only brings up the bunker mentality. They cannot comprehend that people’s resistance to this bullshit has only become stronger and stronger.

The unraveling has only just begun.

I agree that there’s a lot of game face posturing going on. But contrast that “great success!” quote with Conway’s meltdown about how no one in the media has been fired yet for criticizing them.

I’d bet the overall mood throughout the administration is a lot closer to Conway’s than those glib punks trying to polish this turd.
