The useful thing to remember in construction is that there are no actual 90 degree angles. They are 87 and 93 degrees. The only thing that matters at the end is the plaster and paint you put on it.

Getting to true as opposed to level and plum are important as your eye will pick up the differences as no older home is perfectly squared.
