Fischer can go screw himself. Having been to Grand Teton (The Big Tits!) and Yellowstone, I’ve seen grizzlies and black bears up close. Those rules are there for our safety.

Folks who get too close to those bears, especially with cubs run the risk of attack. The parks close areas off to public access (and they did while I was there in 2010) because the bears were in close contact with certain campgrounds and they didn’t want to risk attacks.

Never mind that the grizzlies are part of a healthy ecosystem in the parks (and larger region). They, and other top level carnivores (like the grey wolves) cull elk, deer, and bison herds of weak animals - strengthening the herds and keeping their sizes reasonable to the grazing range.
