The loose engine, a physically small several-hundred-pound lump of metal, came through the fence. I have grave doubts about it even being possible to build a fence that would take that impact and still be, you know, see-through.

What about if the grandstands were raised up a bit so the majority of the debris would just hit harmlessly below where actual people were sitting?
