The Corolla and Camry classes are the biggest part of the market, and the hardest to compete in. The big players are too well established to move, and these are the segments where buyers are least likely to take a chance on a less-known name. FCA has years of shitty Detroit cars to overcome, without pockets as deep as GM or Ford.
So FCA goes with what what sells - muscle cars from Dodge, minivans from Chrysler, SUVs from Jeep, trucks from Ram.
