The point of socialism is to do away with class and such notions.

Sheesh.

Of course, in the Soviet Union, the leadership Nomenklatura, got the Czar’s palaces, had vacation Dachas houses, and special luxury goods stores that regular Russian schmoes couldn’t use.

But ending class consciousness is a supposed goal of socialists & communists. Leveling the class issues.

The Soviets just replaced the Romanov aristocracy with their own political aristocracy. And it will always be that way with communism. All animals are equal except that some animals are more equal than other animals….or something like that.
