My late grandmother was Croatian and a couple of years ago I took my mom on a Rick Steves tour of Croatia, Slovenia & Bosnia. It was fantastic. We got to explore Titos summer place on Lake Bled. We spent a couple of days in Dubrovnik and it was indeed stunning. Bosnia was my first experience in Muslim country and I fell in love with the minarets and calls to prayer. Literally every building we saw in Bosnia was pockmarked with bullet holes.

It was a great trip that I highly recommend.
