Seems as if the Dems lose Massachusetts and/ or don’t have the needed 60 votse to pass Health Care, they can get it done anyway with 51 votes!!

Filibusters only apply to cloture votes, not to votes on passage of the actual bill. Cloture, or the decision to stop debate, has already taken place on this bill.

There are also procedural shenanigans that can be played to limit debate and end-run cloture. Reconciliation is one of them, but it’s unlikely that would accomplish anything near what the Dems want to accomplish because of it’s constraints. Also, there’s a reason this is known as the “nuclear option”; if you think the Republicans are united in opposition now, wait until after such a move. There’ll be carnage for years to come.

Besides, the Massachusetts state Dems have already said that they’ll delay certifying the election until after the health care bill is passed if there’s any question of it’s failure.
