I notice that in some of the film from the celebrations yesterday. In much of North Africa (Morocco, Egypt) it’s not uncommon to see the occasional satellite dish on even the most humble tin roof shack. I didn’t see any of that in the footage from Mali.
Pro Tip: When navigating an unfamiliar city pay attention to the satellite dishes. They always point south.
