Hell, the responses to reviewer comments undergo multiple revisions, though that’s often to remove any references to their lack of reading comprehension, or questioning their parentage.

There might have been a politely worded version of “we stand by our wording because we can read the paper that you are citing back at us (given that we wrote it, idiot) and it has a whole section of the discussion on this topic, which we think qualifies as discusses in detail (idiot)” in my most recent reviewer response.

I must have phrased it well enough because my advisor didn’t remove it.
