Politicians have to misrepresent themselves to get elected. The trick is to make both sides think you’re really on their side. Obama did this brilliantly. All I had to do was go on his website and see him as the hypocrite they all are. At the top of the economics page the heading in big letters states his dedication to free markets. Then down below that in itty bitty small type are all the tariffs and regulations he supports. I honestly thought he didn’t have a snow balls chance of winning right up until Lehman Bros. tanked. Then I had doubts. When McCain ran off and voted for the Stimulus I knew it was over. Obama was going to be President. Sometimes I hate being right.
