Yep. Way more metal between you and ground fire. That’s why it made a great ground attack aircraft compared to a Mustang which was better for air to air combat.

And in all fairness to the ‘bolt, she could hold her own in a dogfight if you knew how to handle her: Use her roll rate and her big-ass propeller. She could out-climb any ‘schmitt or FW.
