Not unless we do that with our cars, knives, heavy equipment etc. We don’t do that. If someone breaks into my home steals my gun removes the trigger lock and uses it in a crime I am not responsible. I’m a victim of a theft. If that guy steals my vodka and car and drunkenly crashes it into a crowded kindergarten schoolyard I should not be held responsible. the DUI car thief would be responsible.

Guns have no purpose but to kill, unlike other heavy equipment. If your gun is stolen and used in a crime, someone else is putting it to its intended use. You shouldn’t have had that gun; no one should have had that gun.
