i think that your concerns are overstated. for example, Charles posted some thoughts on why Israel’s defensive stance may be unwise. AFAIK, the debate right now in Israel is whether or not this was the wise move (not more than a handful of crazies seem to believe that this was not within their rights).

what i’ve seen are people who aren’t clear about the distinction between whether they think that Israel was right, and whether they think that Israel acted wisely.

lack of clarity can get you in a little bit of hot water, sure…but is that so bad?
