Part of it is that bastard Bud Adams, the owner of the former Oilers (now Titans). He still owns the right to the name Oilers and won’t give it up out of spite, IIRC. Unlike the Browns (whose old team moved to Bal. and became the Ravens), where Cleveland was able to get the Browns name back for their new franchise.
