And actually, the theory of evolution has proven itself over time FAR more than any of those examples. When right wing fanatics reject evolution they’re rejecting the basis for modern biology almost in its entirety.

I like to point out to Creationists that if they really believe that it’s true, they have no rationale to support animal testing of drugs, since we’re no more closely related to a chimpanzee than a banana.

The thing is, they tacitly accept the relatedness that evolution implies - and that implies evolution. They struggle to articulate it in a way that DOESN’T overtly accept evolution, but they really do not believe in separate, special creation.
