When I hear people say that a corporation cannot afford to pay a living wage, or afford health care benefits, my new response is going to be: “I guess their business model isn’t working, is it?”

What they mean is that they cannot afford to pay their managers multi-million -dollar bonuses if they pay their workers a living wage.
