re: #126 Chrysicat

I also like Biden and Pete a whole lot more than Bernie. I can’t get past the fact that Putin is fine-at-worst, truly-happy-at-best with him.

The idea is to elect someone who won’t allow Russia to annex Poland and make puppets of France and Germany before the EU Armed Forces are properly set up, after all, and I think Bernie would be just as willing as Trump to treat that as the proper way of the world.

Also, too: Warren. Not saying she’d consider it ‘the proper way of the world’ (honestly, I loathe Bernie and I wouldn’t go quite that far about him) but from what little I’ve heard from her on foreign policy it would seem she’s the sort of hopelessly naive non-interventionist lefty who would not actually be willing to employ a sufficiently broad spectrum of measures to disincentivise such a course of action.
Obama kind of gave off that kind of a vibe in ‘08, but allegedly came out of the first couple of thorough security briefings sufficiently shaken he markedly changed course.
Of course, he was entirely more of a pragmatist than a dogmatic. Warren? Different story entirely. Not a happy thought for us Europeans, TBH.

(oh and @HappyWarrior, I believe you and I disagreed on Beto a while back - gotta say, I’ve largely come around to your point of view. Oops, I guess)
