We know some states that will lose one Congressional seat (such as Illinois.)

Texas is up for the most gains - likely 4. It should be noted though that the new seats there won’t automatically be in GOP strongholds, as the south of TX has been strongly growing too.

I’d bet that all four seats are going to be Republican, given that the Texas Legislature over the past eight years has been stacked with Rick Perry and Tom DeLay’s handpicked candidates. Remember, DeLay was recently convicted of money laundering to finance these campaigns. One of the driving forces for his getting “his people” in office was to affect congressional districting maps - the redrawn maps that he got in 2002 (in a non-census year redrawing) swung Republican by an order of TWELVE congressional seats in just two years (from a 17-15 Democratic advantage in 2002 to a 21-11 Republican advantage in 2004).
