It must be different in California. Here in Illinois a bank needs to have someone from the sheriff’s office serve papers prior to a bank’s crew going in. It’s not all that much, but at least it would have provided the process process with an extra couple pairs of eyes; Eyes which might have caught the faulty paperwork and thus kept this whole mess from happening.
