Custody can be denied for any number of reasons: history of drug abuse or domestic violence, other criminal record or anything deemed detrimental to the child’s well-being.

Apparently not. When you need legislation to deal with common sense issues, it’s anything but a no-brainer.

This is the kind of thing that comes from people like Aiken who talk about Legitimate Rape and have no idea of basic biology.

When I told my husband this story, he first said “well, they obviously had a relationship prior to the child being born” at which point I said that she was 12 when she conceived. He was like…Oh. Nope. WTF?! which is what anyone with a fucking drop of common sense would think. So this is just another breakdown of women having any rights or control of their own lives.

Oh, and also from that story, he was convicted of ATTEMPTED criminal sexual conduct. The child was apparently not sufficient evidence of ACTUAL criminal sexual ASSAULT? Gah!
