I agree. And when posters I respect have a bad day, I move along and don’t pile on. Interestingly, piling on is apparently a really popular activity here.

Well, the fact is that it becomes really easy when you have one person up against a half dozen or more people disagreeing. It’s a feedback loop. The single person becomes more defensive and the opposition pushes harder to break the defense, all the while feeding on each other.
