My policeman brother-in-law’s wife posted a “POLICE ARE PEOPLE TOO HURR HURR” meme on her Facebook the other day. No one here is claiming they aren’t, only that perhaps they shouldn’t brutalize people who don’t actually pose a threat.

I’m tired of that nonsense. Yeah police are people too. They shouldn’t be above the law or above reproach from criticism. I hear from people like your bil “Oh the police have a tough job so go easy on them. You don’t know what it’s like blah blah.” And yes I don’t knwo what it’s like and they ado have a stressful job but they still have an oath that they took as officers of the law and they shouldn’t be above the law when it comes to killing people. It’s an absolute travesty of justice that officers that kill unarmed people are seldom indicted since prosecutors are like Robert McCulloch and instead of seeing them as representatives of the people in their counties see themselves as the police’s buddy in a sports coat and tie.
