Yes, indeedy. I have no problem with people (for instance, me!) joining the Democratic party with the goal of shifting its policies left. In which, just by the way, we have been having some success. I do have a problem with people who sign up in order to run for office, lose, quit, and still think they deserve a voice in the institution from which they have disassociated themselves. I use the plural to include those who ran as delegates and then quit the party; and the general complaint extends to mere voters, too. Join us! Get inside the tent and piss out, as LBJ so clearly put it. Better that than being outside and pissing in.
