We’re a failing state heading towards a failed state - and once you get to that phase, it’s pretty much going to be anarchy.

The term I’ve used before to describe us as a Hybrid State at present. We appear to use democratic wallpaper to cover over an actual working authoritarian regime led by an Executive Order madman supported by an utterly corrupt and evil Republican Senate.

We became more or less a formal Hybrid State when Trump was ushered into the White House by a anti-democratic institution called the Electoral College against the wishes of a 3 popular million majority. Until then we had been teetering on the brink of falling from a Flawed Democracy status into the abyss we are in now. It is going to take an all-out show of force by a solid popular Biden majority to turn things around post-election. Things will not change until Republican Congressmen can have actual blood on their hands and be legally and electorally accountable for it. This is what it is going to take.
