The Birchers have come full circle in the gold chat rooms I have read. They are angry at the government, thinking it the root of all evil. They feel betrayed by the PTB (powers that be) who have usurped our rights, our lands, our guns, our morality, etc. etc. They idealize the founding fathers and have respect only for farmers and people who produce things. Utopian is a good word for it. They want to leave America before it becomes a “fascist state”, although they think it is already upon us. They think we will all be chipped with the number of the Beast. They hate the Jews who own all the money and pull the strings of the New World Order (along with the supragovernmental international elite. It is among the most illogical, daffy, mean-spirited, divisive, rage-filled group of people you never want to meet. They do not believe there are real terrorists except for the aforementioned. They sit around discussing availability of ammunition and race wars. You can be talking to someone who seems pretty normal and all of a sudden they are quoting Pat Robertson. It is deeply disturbing and not uncommon.
