My wife had two uncles who served in the second war. They died several years ago and were buried in their uniforms along with their medals.

Aboriginals serving in WWII got none of the benefits non aboriginals did, but they were given transport to their reserves so they could be forgotten.

It wasn’t until a couple of years ago that they were given recognition for their contributions.
